Lord's Prayer of the People

Proper 12
The Prayers of the People following the inspiration of The Lord's Prayer...

O God who resides in us each, holy is your name. Holy are all the names you carry, given by those who cherish you. May there be peace among us and around us. May all that we do be pleasing to you and to your calling for inclusive love. United as one people, with you, may we strive for heaven on earth.

God of love,
Grant our prayer.

Give to each of us those things that we need for our lives, families, careers, and existence. Give us the strength to be your hands and feet by giving to others when they are in need. May we not turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to the starving, broken, and hurting but rather have a spirit of giving.  Give us grace and mercy for ourselves and for others.

God of love,
Grant our prayer.

Forgive us for the the times we have failed to treat others as you would have us do. Forgive us for the times we hate, judge, and ridicule while ignoring our own sins and mistakes. Forgive us as we choose this day to forgive all those that have harmed us. Forgive and keep close all those who have reposed in the hope of your unending love and eternal life.

God of love,
Grant our prayer.

May we not be easily led astray by those who wish us to hate rather than love. Deliver us from ourselves, when our egos distract us from the dangers of our own actions. Deliver us from our enemies who would rather we suffer in silence, than live in freedom. Deliver us from the words and ways of those who wish to turn your Gospel into fear.

God of love,
Grant our prayer.

Merciful Lover of all people, we ask you to especially remember those needs, situations, and people whom we mention now:

Please pray freely here. You may simply say a name or a full request.

God of love,
Grant our prayer.

Now to God who is able to do immeasurably more
than all we can ask or conceive,
by the power which is at work among us and through us,
be glory now and forever.

Amen.

Feel free to make use of this in your home, parishes and ministries.
